OUR ORGANIZATION

Scylla AG was founded in 1973 as a family business. We are an international operating shipping company with 4 country offices and more than 2.000 employees on the cruise vessels. We realize high-quality cruises, from ship design to crew. The vessels, inculding crew and services, are marketed internationally. Our fleet of 39 ships is expanding and we are constantly on the move and looking for new opportunities. To support us in our ambitious plans for the future we are hiring a Vice President Nautical & Technical Operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position you will be creating and executing the long term strategy for the nautical, technical and new build department. As a strategic business partner you are the linking pin between the operations and the board of directors. You will be both consulting on board range of operational matters, and work on projects that support the implementation oh short-and long-term strategy, of which the focus will be on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, business development and cost efficiency. 


MAIN TASKS

  • Leading the nautical, technical and new build department;
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures;
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth;
  • Ensure that the targets regarding cost and revenue are met and improved where possible;
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics;
  • Participate in expansion activities and manage relationships with partners/sub-contractors


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nautical, technical or maritime training or education is desirable;
  • Experience in the nautical and technical sector;
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, finance and purchasing;
  • Strong communication skills and an excellent command of English and / or German in speaking and writing;
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities;
  • Fulltime availability and flexible regarding working hours and ability to travel;
  • String social skills, solution-oriented ambitious, flexible and quality-oriented;
  • You easily see things from various perspectives and understand people that have another point of view. In addition you can easily mediate in conflicts.
